A California native, Dr. Lindsay Tavares, M.D. graduated from Claremont McKenna College, and then earned her medical degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine, where she earned several honors including the Novak award and scholarship, Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Commitment to Underserved People leadership award. She also participated in programs such as the Tohono O’odham Vision screening program, Sight Savers, and the Optimal Aging program.
Having a sharp interest in eyes and vision, as well as a passion for improving the quality of life of patients, Dr. Tavares also completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona. She served as the residency representative for the graduate medical education council, published articles in corneal infections, and earned the Academic Merit award for her program. She is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist whose practice includes glaucoma and cataract management. She is a member of the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
